Kenya will participate in this year's annual International Tourism Bourse travel trade fair to be held in Germany next month. The State-run Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and other industry stakeholders will represent the country.

The event will run from March 5 to 9 and is expected to bring together 11,000 companies from 180 countries.

"Compared with 2006, the number of bookings at the ITB Berlin 2008, has remained consistently high. The world's largest travel trade show will live up to its reputation as the industry's leading international platform," said ITB senior manager, Mr David Ruetz.

More than 100,000 trade visitors are expected to attend.

Last year nearly 70,000 people attended the fair, which is held at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The World Tourism Organisation predicts that holiday and business travel will increase.
