The Government has finally lifted the one-month curfew imposed in Nakuru and its environs.

Speaking on phone to Kenya News Agency Monday, the Rift valley Provincial Commissioner Hassan Noor Hassan said that due to improved security, normalcy has returned and people can now go about their business without fear.

Noor thanked Nakuru residents for abiding by the curfew directive saying that no ugly incidences were witnessed during the curfew period.

The curfew was imposed following three weeks of post election violence that left 80 people dead, property destroyed and thousands displaced.

The PC however, reiterated that the police would continue patrolling the area and rid it off goons, whose mission is to terrorize and loot from wananchi.

Last month, the curfew was adjusted by three hours from the previous 7pm to 6am imposed three weeks ago to between 9pm and 6am.
